Got people in your life who detest the sweet things? Who DON’T comfort eat chocolate after a bad day (or let’s face it, even a Good Day)? We know - banish the thought. But because we know these extreme cases exist, we have broadened our range enough to include their unusual palettes. Discrimination isn’t our thing, so if it’s only savoury they want, it’s savoury they get. Allow us to take you through some of our more salt and savoury-inclined Good Day People hampers.
Salty Simon: I mean, it’s in the name, right? We have managed to make salt classy with a selection of Olson’s X Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin Salt, L’Abruzzese Squid Ink Spaghetti, Bomb Ass Chilli Oil and the choice between Minimum red or white wine. Wanna leave a lasting impression on your dinner guest/s? Serve your spaghetti black. Squid ink black. And then do us a favour, and don’t mix it with a jar of Dolmio’s. Combine it with scallops, Bomb Ass Chilli Oil and tomatoes and your guests won’t even realise that chocolate is not on the menu. Of the selection of wine: pick the red, and you will be opting for a sweetly fruited and moorish drop that will balance the flavours of the rest of the goods in this hamper. The white stays true to theme, with a dry and savoury finish.
Hunky Hank: this is one of the more suave savoury food hampers, with an inclusion of two Taylor & Smith Cocktails; both a negroni and a hanky panky, McLaren Vale grown Fleurier Olives and Wondaree Roasted Salted Macadamia Nuts, which are grown on the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland. The nuts will pair perfectly with a cold beer, the olives, with a smooth red to compliment their fruity flavour and meaty texture. Otherwise, why don’t you go the whole nine yards, pull out an aged cheddar, triple cream brie and incorporate the olives and nuts into a charcuterie board? The cocktails will pair perfectly. You’ll thank us later.
Foodie Frank: we couldn’t commit to an exclusively salty offering with this one. With a selection that includes Mount Zero Olive Oil, Olson’s X Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin Salt, Bomb Ass Chilli Oil and L’Abruzzese Squid ink Spaghetti, we have cut through the salt with our very own Good Day Chocolate and Misty’s Salted Caramel. The Good Day Chocolate is a collaboration between us (bet you didn’t see that coming) and the wonderful folk at Winnow Chocolates in the Blue Mountains. This savoury food hamper is specifically for lovers of gluten, salty and sweet. And that’s all of us…right?
These savoury food hampers are exactly the gift for those who walk into a bakery and pick a slow cooked lamb pie over an almond croissant. Or the ones who pick both. Their cholesterol may not thank us, but their taste buds will. We are here to put the sexy back in salt, and make it a Good Day.
