Australia Day X Good Day People: A Collab You Didn’t Know You Needed
Australia Day is fast approaching, and you guys are no doubt starting to gather your mates together in a group chat to discuss your plans for the day. Straight down to the beach (obviously) for a swim or a surf, followed by a coupl’a cold ones, throw some meat on the barbie and kick around a soccer ball and a frisbee at some point. We nailed it…didn’t we!
We’ve only got one small critique: where is your Good Day People hamper?
We know, we know. Woolies has got everything you need in terms of meat, pre and post-lunch snacks, and Liquorland will sort you out with all the beer and ciders your heart desires (and your wallet allows for). But neither of these vendors has you hooked up with produce from artisans around the country, conveniently contained in a portable tube packaging!
From craft beer to moreish condiments, and locally made chocolate to wild fermented wine, we’ll sort you out with our Australian hampers so that you do the public holiday right!
We would be remiss not to point out our most obvious choice for your Australia Day; our Aussie Ash hamper! She won’t let you down with contents that include Taka Gin, Tasteology Lemon Myrtle Syrup, Indigieearth Saltbush Dukkah, two cans of Tasmanian Tonic Water, Wondaree Macadamia Nuts and Bahen & Co Macadamia Milk Chocolate. And you know what the best part is? Many of these products are from small businesses owned and run by First Nations people.
Beery Barry seems another obvious choice for the Australia Day holiday. He’s got you sorted with tinnies from a few local breweries. These include Garage Project Bliss, Yulli’s Brews Amanda Mandarin IPA, Colonial Brewing Co Pale Ale and Philter Brewing Co XPA. Beers aside, there is also a packet of Wondaree Roasted Salted Macadamia Nuts, to delay the inevitable hangover the next day!
Beachy Bella knows the non-negotiables of a great Australia Day. Packed with three cans of Dirty Water Seltzers, a Poor Toms negroni spritz and gin & tonic, a turkish towel, Good Day Chocolate, We Feel Good Sunscreen and a packet of Fluffe. The only thing we can’t do is save you a spot on the sand, so hurry down!
Tequila Tom doesn’t just know a good time…he IS the good time! His contents are pretty self-explanatory, but let me detail them anyway! La Gritona Tequila (what is Tequila Tom without…tequila?), two bottles of Strangelove Salted Grapefruit Mixer, La Tortilleria corn chips, and Bahen & Co Chilli Salted Chocolate. All you need to do is whip up the guacamole and you’re on your way!
Snacky Jackie is an absolute Australia Day no-brainer! With a bottle of wine (red, white, Pet Nat or non-alcoholic of your choosing), a Ferm Living Ripple Carafe Set, Taylor & Smith cocktail, Mount Zero Olives, Messina Chocolate Hazlenut Spread, and Bahen & Co Guatemala Chocolate…all you need to complete the spread is a loaf of quality sourdough and some gourmet sausages and you have yourself an Australia Day feast!
